“Through the front doors, of course, how else would one leave?” Rafael’s face was one of confusing, mocked or not, he was distinctively amused by the question poised by the girl. Did she think he was really worried about the werewolf or the other patrons here? Perhaps, she had the eyes of someone who had not seen the world, and he was sure she had never been in a dive such as this. A troubling place to be, no doubt, and nothing she should really be in. Then again, Rafael hadn’t told her too, she had done all that herself.
However, a growl took his eyes away from her and too the wolf, the creature was paying little heed to what she was saying. In the safety of Rafael’s arms, she would be able to use such bold words, that is what the wolf would think. He drummed it’s mace into it’s hands. “You got lucky last time, vampire, but don’t think so this time. You don’t have so much room for your fairy movements.” He growled again, and his pack started to show up behind him.
Rafael simply shrugged his head, pulling his own weapon out once again. He held it at his side, and motioned for the Templar to get out, he need that man alive, and unharmed, otherwise he might think it would be wiser to take someone else’s money. Something Rafael didn’t need at the moment, he did not like to hunt down new contacts, not in this world. He turned his attention back to William as the captain swept behind him, walking towards the exit in a hurried huff.
He raised his free hand to run his fingers and thumb against either side of his chin and cheeks. “So, William, you really think you can take me. Even with this flea bitten pack you brought with you. This one of your interbreed clans?” The vampire gave him more than a little of a mocking grin. Yet his grip tightened on his sword.
William shifted slightly. “You are one to talk. From what I understand you screwed your own niece for a couple hundred years, before the humans killed her.” The laugh was like that of a hyena, sharp and annoying, and as he laughed, he felt the tip of the blade slice just above his heart. “Shit vampire! Strike a nerve.”
Yet even as he tried to retort against the vampire, he was already moving, his blade swing around to strike at several more vital points, yet his free hand had swept back to make sure he kept a hand on the girl. Mainly worried that they would reach out and try to grab her and use her as leverage. He was not sure what exactly she would or could do against the brutes, he doubted she had his training. And he was more than able to block and dodge many of the blows aimed at him, and the monsters had more than a good share of wounds.
